Dr. Joshua Bakke grew up in Nashville, TN. He received his Bachelors of Art from Harding University before attending medical school at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. He completed his pediatric training at LeBonheur Children’s Medical Center, where he served as Chief Resident from 2017-2018. Dr. Bakke is board certified in General Pediatrics and has been with Memphis Children’s Clinic since 2018. When not seeing patients, Dr. Bakke enjoys traveling, hiking, mountain biking, and gardening with his wife Christy.

Dr. Mary Benton was born and raised in Memphis. She graduated with a B.S. from Rhodes College in 1991. She received her M.D. from the University of Tennessee and completed her pediatric residency at Louisiana State University in 1998. Dr. Benton is board certified in General Pediatrics. She has been a physician at Memphis Children’s Clinic since 1998.

Dr. Anita Durham received her M.D. from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in 1992. She then completed her pediatric residency at LeBonheur Children’s Medical Center in 1995, after which she joined Memphis Children’s Clinic. Dr. Durham is board certified in General Pediatrics.
Dr. Durham works at the Germantown/Collierville and Kirby/Hickory Hill offices.
Dr. Brad Jones received his M.D. from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center and completed his pediatric residency at LeBonheur Children’s Medical Center in 1996. He is board certified in General Pediatrics. His first introduction to Memphis Children’s Clinic was as a patient when his family moved to Memphis from northeast Georgia. He has helped lead medical mission teams to Guatemala, Haiti, India and Brazil. He and his wife Nicole enjoy traveling, running long distance races and serving in the music ministry at their church where he is the pianist.

Dr. Scott Kloek is a lifelong Memphian. He graduated from Raleigh Egypt High School and Christian Brother’s University. He received his M.D. from the University of Tennessee Medical School and joined Memphis Children’s Clinic in 1995 after completing his pediatric residency at LeBonheur Children’s Medical Center. He is board certified in General Pediatrics. Dr. Kloek is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at University of Tennessee and DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine. He currently serves as the Chairman of Pediatrics at Methodist Germantown Hospital. After marrying the love of his life, he became the father of two boys (and also recently adopted a cat). He was an avid soccer player but now focuses on tennis and watching the Memphis Grizzlies to keep him busy. He attends Central Church in Collierville and teaches 4th grade Sunday School.

Dr. Cindy Sands graduated with an engineering degree from the University of Illinois and worked as a Biomedical Engineer until entering medical school at the University of Tennessee. She completed her pediatric residency at LeBonheur Children’s Medical Center and joined Memphis Children’s Clinic in 2004. Dr. Sands is board certified in General Pediatrics. She and her husband Steve have two children, Lilly and Weston.

Dr. Van Snider graduated from the University of Tennessee with a B.S. in 1958. He received his M.D. from the University of Arkansas Medical School and completed his pediatric residency with the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in 1968 after serving in the United States Navy. He joined Memphis Children’s Clinic in 1969 and has been in practice here over 40 years. In that time, he studied at Harvard and Boston Children’s Hospital while in post residency training and has held several University of Tennessee Health Science Center teaching appointments. Dr. Snider is board certified in General Pediatrics, is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and The American College of Sports Medicine. He also serves as a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Tennesssee Health Science Center. He and his wife have three children and several grandchildren. He is the immediate past Chief Medical Officer for Memphis Children’s Clinic.
Dr. Joi Wilson-Townsend is a native Memphian. She received her BS in Neuroscience from Vanderbilt University and Masters in Public Health from The University of Southern California, prior to entering medical school at the University of TN Health Science Center. She completed her residency at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital. Dr. Wilson-Townsend is board certified in General Pediatrics and has been with Memphis Children’s Clinic since 2015. She is married to Aristeve, and in their spare time they enjoy traveling, reading, studying history, and watching the Grizzlies.
