Dr. Lauren Chipman is a native of Shelby County. She grew up in Millington and attended Millington Central High School. After high school, she attended Union University and graduated in 2001 with a B.A. in Christian Studies. While at Union, she met the love of her life, Steven. She received her medical training at East Tennessee State University Quillen College of Medicine. In 2007, Lauren and Steven returned to Memphis for her pediatric residency at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital. Lauren is board-certified in General Pediatrics. Lauren and Steven have four children and are members at Grace Church in downtown Memphis.

Dr. Melissa Damico joined Memphis Children’s Clinic in August 2012. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Mississippi and attended medical school at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis. She completed her residency at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital and was the first recipient of the Russell W. Chesney Award for Excellence in Pediatric Residency. She is board-certified in General Pediatrics. Dr. Damico enjoys spending time with her family in Mississippi and traveling to Oxford in the fall to cheer on the Ole Miss Rebels.

Dr. Tim Gillespie joined Memphis Children’s Clinic in 1988 after completing training and serving as Chief Pediatric Resident at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital. He has a B.S. degree from the University of Alabama and his M.D. from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. He is board-certified in General Pediatrics. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, and he has been awarded the Community Pediatric Teaching Award by the residents at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital on two occasions. He has been listed in the Best Doctors in America yearly since 1999. He has been married for thirty years to Anita, and they have two sons. He is active in his church and his hobbies include soccer and world history. He currently serves as the Chief Medical Officer for Memphis Children’s Clinic.
Dr. Oluwaseun Heinkel grew up in St. Louis, Mo. and attended medical school at St. Louis University School of Medicine. She completed her pediatric residency at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital in 2006, after which she joined Memphis Children’s Clinic. She is board-certified in General Pediatrics. Dr. Heinkel and her husband have three children who keep them very busy. In her spare time, she likes to play soccer and tennis.
Dr. Heinkel practices in the Whitehaven and Kirby/Hickory Hill offices.
Dr. Sanders is originally from the small town of Humboldt, Tenn. She received her undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga before attending medical school at The University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis. She completed her pediatric residency training at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital, where she served as Chief Resident from 2010 to 2011. Dr. Sanders is board-certified in General Pediatrics and has been with Memphis Children’s Clinic since 2011. When not practicing medicine, Dr. Sanders enjoys traveling, especially to Walt Disney World, reading a good book, baking and trying new restaurants. She and her husband have two children, Kate and Andrew.
Dr. Joshua Bakke grew up in Nashville, Tenn. He received his Bachelor’s of Arts from Harding University before attending medical school at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. He completed his pediatric training at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital, where he served as Chief Resident from 2017 to 2018. Dr. Bakke is board-certified in General Pediatrics and has been with Memphis Children’s Clinic since 2018. When not seeing patients, Dr. Bakke enjoys traveling, hiking, mountain biking and gardening with his wife, Christy.
Dr. Bakke practices at the Germantown and Olive Branch offices.
Dr. Ken Robertson has lived in Memphis since 1985. He went to undergraduate school at Lee University in Cleveland, Tenn., and to medical school at The University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, Tenn. and did his pediatrics residency at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital. He joined Memphis Children’s Clinic in 1993. In 2000, he completed his MBA from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. In 2006, he transitioned to Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital full-time, ultimately working as the Chief Medical Officer for Le Bonheur Pediatrics until August of 2016, when his love for taking care of kids drove him back to rejoin Memphis Children’s Clinic full-time. He is board-certified in General Pediatrics and still maintains roles with the state, including serving on the Board for Licensing Healthcare Facilities for Governor Haslam and working with the Tennessee American Academy of Pediatrics on quality initiatives being implemented throughout the state. He has been married to Carla Church Robertson since 1990 and is the proud father of two girls and one son.
