Dr. Beth Brown was born and raised in Union City, TN. She received her B.S. in Biology at Union University in Jackson, TN. She then attended medical school and received her M.D. at The University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis prior to completing her pediatric residency through UT at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital. She joined Memphis Children’s Clinic in 2015 and is Board Certified in General Pediatrics. During her free time, she is active in her church and does volunteer work in the local community. She enjoys traveling and is passionate about medical missions.

Dr. Anna-Maria DaCosta was born in New Jersey. She attended the University of Pennsylvania where she completed both a bachelor’s degree in biology and a master’s in special education. She attended the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and received her M.D. in 1984. Dr. DaCosta completed her pediatric residency at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children. She then continued her training with special needs children completing a fellowship in Developmental Pediatrics at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia where she worked for 18 years as a general pediatrician and a specialist in developmental pediatrics. Dr. DaCosta has a special interest in working with children with autism, attention-deficit-hyperactivity disorder, and deafness. She also enjoys working with children of international adoption. She has studied American Sign Language and is proficient in this language. Dr. DaCosta relocated to Memphis in 2012 and joined Memphis Children’s Clinic. She is married to Dr. John Kim Choi, a pediatric hematopathologist at St. Jude’s Hospital. They have three daughters, two dogs, and two cats. Dr. DaCosta enjoys being with her family, reading, and swimming. She and her daughters do volunteer work with abandoned animals.

Dr. Anita Durham received her M.D. from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in 1992. She then completed her pediatric residency at LeBonheur Children’s Medical Center in 1995, after which she joined Memphis Children’s Clinic. Dr. Durham is board certified in General Pediatrics.
Dr. Durham works at the Germantown/Collierville and Kirby/Hickory Hill offices.
Dr. Jerri Giger went to the University of Tennessee and graduated in 1986 with a bachelor’s degree in zoology. She received her M.D. from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center and completed her pediatric residency at LeBonheur Children’s Hospital in 1994. Dr. Giger is board certified in General Pediatrics. She has been married since 1987 and has one son.
Dr. Giger has retired and will no longer be seeing patients.
Dr. Oluwaseun Heinkel grew up in St. Louis, MO and attended medical school at St. Louis University School of Medicine. She completed her pediatric residency at Lebonheur Children’s Medical Center in 2006, after which she joined Memphis Children’s Clinic. She is board certified in General Pediatrics. Dr. Heinkel and her husband have three children who keep them very busy. In her spare time she likes to play soccer and tennis.
Dr. Heinkel practices in the Whitehaven and Kirby/Hickory Hill offices.
Dr. Joanne Levine earned her M.D. from New York Medical College and completed her pediatric residency at Thomas Jefferson University and duPont Hospital for Children. Dr. Levine has additional training in evaluating autism in children. She is board certified in General Pediatrics. She joined Memphis Children’s Clinic in 2009. She is married and has 3 children.

Dr. Amanda Mefford was born and raised in Mayfield, Kentucky. She graduated from Georgetown College in Kentucky in 2001. Dr. Mefford received her M.D. from the University of Kentucky Medical School in 2005 and completed her pediatric residency at LeBonheur Children’s Medical Center in 2008, after which she joined Memphis Children’s Clinic. She is board certified in General Pediatrics. She is married to Drew Mefford (University of Kentucky Dental school 2000) and has two children, Wilson and Dorothy.

Dr. Meghan Sullivan was born and raised in Memphis. She attended Baylor University in Waco, TX for college where she earned a B.A. in Biology with a minor in religion. She then returned to Memphis for medical school at University of Tennessee Health Science Center and completed her residency at LeBonheur Children’s Medical Center in 2008. She is board certified in General Pediatrics and joined Memphis Children’s Clinic in 2012. She has an interest in obesity and obesity related issues. Dr. Sullivan is married and has one son. In her spare time, she enjoys reading a good book, cooking, gardening, or spending time outside. She is also active in her church and is on the baking team there.

Dr. Donnyel Thornton is a native Memphian. She received her undergraduate degree from the College of Wooster in Wooster, OH and her M.D. from the University of Tennessee in Memphis, TN. Dr. Thornton completed her pediatric internship through the University of Tennessee at LeBonheur Children’s Medical Center. After completion of internship, she was called to active duty in the United States Navy. Dr. Thornton spent four years as a general medical officer stationed at Cherry Point and Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. She returned to Memphis after fulfilling her military obligations and completed her pediatric residency. She joined Memphis Children’s Clinic in July 2012. Dr. Thornton is board certified in General Pediatrics.
